Joint Allocation to AIAS South Quad - Retroactive Venue Bill
This is a retroactive funding bill to acquire funds which were originally denied for spurious reasons. These reasons were then confirmed in a legislative session on 3/29/2009. The funds raised from this lecture were applied to other costs in the conference. The amount requested in the original amount requested for a venue cost.
The AIAS is an independent, 501c(3) non-profit and student-run organization that is more than just a club. This grassroots association is a cooperative between thousands of students in North America (of all ages and academic degrees) committed to helping each other. It provides a sense of community and a forum to share differing views. The AIAS is also a professional organization that is the official voice of architecture students.
Each year, the Quads host conferences in the fall and spring. They are hosted by an AIAS chapter in the region and the themes vary. The conferences are a terrific way to meet other students in your region, to learn about architecture outside of the classrooms and have a lot of fun.
The AIAS South Quad Conference is being held in Atlanta, GA March 5-8 2009 and is co-hosted by Southern Polytechnic State University and Georgia Institute of Technology.

Joint Allocation to Tech Beautification Day
Tech Beautification Day was started in 1998 and has become Georgia Tech'slargest on- campus service event. On this day, students can give back to their campus through cleanup, landscaping, and immersing themselves in their community. The twelfth annual Tech Beautification Day, April 4, 2009, seeks to bring together students, faculty, alumni and staff to make positive environmental changes on the campus where they live, work, and study. All participants receive breakfast, lunch, and a t-shirt. We expect around 1000 students. Due to the expected increase in participation, we have been working with IFC and CPC to clean up the Greek area of campus on top of all of our other projects.

Joint Allocation to Rowing Club
The crew club was involved in a terrible accident back in the fall of 2008 where they lost 9 shells to full destruction. The state has worked with the club in obtaining insurance money for part of the replacement of the shells but they are short on being able to replace the entire 9 shell fleet that was lost. The club has done some fund-raising to assist in helping replace the fleet and has also raised over $15,000 to purchase a new trailer to haul the shells.
The club is asking for one new shell. They would like to submit for full funding under an emergency statute if at all possible, especially given that they have raised a significant amount of funds for other lost items.

Allocation to Graduate SGA Blueprint Spread
While prior years Graduate SGA has paid for a group photo, I believe that a two page yearbook spread would better publicize the activities and events of the Graduate Student Government. The total amount required for the two page spread $310, but our budget already has $70 set aside for a group photo. Thus the total amount requested is only $240.
